October 2020.
Let’s see. Since December 2019 which was my last blog post, life has changed drastically and in rapid succession for me.
Professional and working spiel. I started tangling in Bali’s Hospitality industry when I moved here, April 2018. Since then, I have held down 5 different jobs, each one a step above the last. I have been blessed in this aspect and hope to continue to be blessed.
I left a job I adored as an English teacher in Surabaya and a part time event-planner, and moved to Bali, where I first assumed the position of Executive Event Assistant and Personal Assistant for one of the most respected Event Planning Company on the island. Hitch’d Bali will always have a piece of my heart and I will always recommend them for folks looking to have their special day in the most sincere, capable hands.
I then moved to my first job in the nightlife industry. I started working for La Favela, arguably the most well-known and biggest club in Bali and became a part of a small, dedicated team at the door where I learned many, many, many life lessons and casted a significant net in my network.
I stayed with the LYD Bali Group and was given a brand new Sales Department, becoming a Sales Representative for the company for a short bit, casting my networking net that much larger,- and again taught me invaluable lessons.
I then stepped up to my first stint in Management in another very well-respected and established F&B group in Bali, TGFB. Thank you for all the wisdom and the opportunity.
Not a month later, I landed my current job. I was given the chance to take on a new learning curve as Operational Manager, which then turned into General Manager within a few months, and at 21, I made COO.
And to the CEO of the company, MET, I am forever indebted to you.
Thank you for being the big brother I never got the chance to have. Thank you for being so patient and compassionate with me, every step of the way. Thank you for giving a 20-year old girl who still has so much to learn the privilege of being your Chief of Operations.
Here’s to us, from one shop to multinational establishments. Here’s to your lovely family, who I think of as my own kin.
Here’s to Bali. Here’s to Houston. Here’s to our next one, and the one after, and here’s to the honour and privilege to aide de camp the shit out of our dynamic. I look forward to watching you take this world by storm.
Now that is the journey of my professional career in a nutshell.
On to my personal life.
